Akdamar Island and Armenian Cathedral of the Holy Cross

The Church of the Holy Cross on Akdamar Island (Turkish: Akdamar Kilisesi) was a medieval cathedral of the Armenian Apostolic Church. It was built as a palatine church for the kings of Vaspurakan and later serving as the seat of the Armenian Catholicosate of the Aghtamar. The Church was completed in 921 AD.
